Ok kids I realize I’ve been super mia for a few weeks. Time flys when you are busy in everyday life, thought I hadn’t posted anything new in a few days turns out I’m nearing a month with my foolishness. Any who I am back now and have decided that for my new out look on life (my life specifically) I should have a new look as well, decided to dye my hair and I love it! I hope you guys love it too, pics will be posted soon.

So I’m sure that many of you natural hair chicas have heard of Kim Love of Kimmaytube on youtube and luvnaturals.com (her website). Well anywho she has this leave in conditioner concoction that I have adopted to suit my own needs which is what she has suggested. If you watch Kim you’ll learn very quickly that she knows her stuff and wants to share her knowledge with our natural hair community. You can find her on youtube at youtube.com/kimmaytube. If your wondering what the ingredients are in my leave in its listed below.
SDV’s modified Kimmaytube method:
coconut oil, olive oil, aloe vera juice, kinky curly leave in conditioner, grape seed oil and lastly almond oil for scent.
Now surely that sounds like a lot of oils buts its a dash of each mixed into a bowl and applied after each washing. Try it out and let us know what you think.

Did you know? Its either a relaxer or color. Its never a good idea to do both to the hair at the same time, so either be natural with color or relaxed no color. A hair stylist confirmed this for me yesterday, color and relaxed hair is done all the time so obviously it can be done but the chances of one’s hair breaking off and the ends of the hair becoming more brittle are more likely than with natural hair and color. But as with anything, “anything is possible” if your not taking care of your hair be it natural or relaxed. Although many of us Afro American women indulge in “permed” hair and color most are not aware of the serious risk of the two together and commence to treating their as we’ve always done.
PSA: to my relaxed beauties please be sure to take good care of your hair more specifically those ends!
I used to think if I colored my hair now in its natural state that it would be pretty damaging, truth is now is the best time for me to add a bit of color so we’ll see what happens in the coming months

Today I was o n yahoo and saw that there are talks of changing the face of the American currency. In my opinion it’s about time our money got a face lift , having traveled in Europe and seeing the different type of currency in the world I would like to hold something a little different in my pocket too!

Today I was perusing Torrid.com, you know the site for the thick chicks of the world and I came across a look that I think translates across sizes.

The natural hair care experiments have begun, again, I’ve recently done a henna treatment my intent was to color my hair with the henna but there wasn’t much of a change. It was more like a super deep conditioner which I didn’t mind because I recently took some Senegalese twist out so I think I might continue to use henna as a super deep conditioner at least every six weeks. And I’ll keep you guys posted on the benefits in the future. But I will link you to The Coil Review’s article on henna.
